The Story of DōTERRA's Rosemary Essential Oil
Apart from smelling amazing diffused with lemon and/or peppermint and supporting focus, concentration & learning (oh, and tasting great if you add a drop to your fresh tomato and chickpea pasta sauce), I love DōTERRA rosemary essential oil for the story behind it.
When I was in Kenya a few weeks ago on a Co-Impact Sourcing trip, I had the pleasure of meeting Peter and Gideon with their families, on their small farms, and helping plant new rosemary seedlings. There, deep in dirt on the field, I heard the story of DōTERRA rosemary from Emily Wright, DōTERRA President.
DōTERRA first discovered some super quality rosemary growing in Morocco. Having realized that rosemary could be grown in perfect conditions and help small scale farmers in Kenya diversify, 50 plants were shipped there. All of them died. The second attempt was more successful because the seedlings put in a layover in France and were watered. But only 4 seedlings made it to Kenya, thirsty and tired. However, with some extra care and attention they then flourished into strong and healthy plants.
Those 4 seedlings have since produced over 5 million more that have helped Kenyan farmers make a decent living and support their families and communities.
What a hopeful and encouraging story! 🤗 I hope you’ll think of it when you are enjoying that delicious aroma of rosemary and that you are as equally determined in the care and nurturing of your own ideas and projects so that they can grow and create more joy, too.
